Race day at British F1 GP Silverstone (part one)

F1 THURSDAY SKY SPORTS F1 SHOW F1 FRIDAY PART 1 F1 FRIDAY PART 2 RACE DAY SUNDAY PART 1 RACE DAY SUNDAY PART 2

Sunday is the day of races from F1, F2 and GP3 and crowds are frantic to catch a good spot so an early rise at 5am is necessary. I refused to break into a run carrying two chairs and camera bag at 5:55am on a Sunday just for a good spot. Nevertheless a great spot was found three rows from the fence on the home straight within elevated sight lines of three jumbotron screens. At race start there were 14 rows of chairs behind and lots of people standing behind them.

In any case there are too many shots and video clips for one posting, one final post to go.

You think F1 grass is natural green do you?

    Absolutely brilliant journalistic work, John.
Great photos. I could smell the high octane fuel from your video clip. I will make it over one day to Silverstone. It is on my bucket list.
