The Wallace Monument was built by my wife’s father, as I explained to my children when they were young. You could tell because if you looked closely you could see he ‘missed a bit’! Capturing the brickwork means an early start for sunrise, but worth it.

Winters grip
A very sharp frost in winter 2008 gripped Stirling. Lots of crystalline ice grew over successive days of sub-zero temperatures.These were created on Abbey Craig upon which the Wallace Monument towers.
Overlooking Stirling
A quick walk up the Ochils that overlook Stirling. Well worth the time spent to get there and rewards the mild effort with great views from the Forth bridges (soon to be a trio) in the east to Ben Lomond in the west.
