  • Catalan Landscape

The Catalan landscape has a similar look to typical Scottish rural landscapes. Catalonia has a different climate to most of Spain due to the Pyrenees. This has the effect of causing more rainfall, providing a greener landscape and colder winters than the rest of Spain. Scottish summers do not compare, but somehow the effects on the countryside draws similarities.

  • Harvest bounty

My joy of gardening is seeing beautiful and tasty bounty harvested from garden to plate, sandwich or pot straight from the ground. This has been a good year with plenty sunshine and rain. This list includes:

    • Three sackfuls of potato
    • Six weeks of daily pickings of lettuce
    • Six weeks of cucumber
    • Endless tomatoes Friday from the vine
    • Four weeks of garden peas
    • A small carrot hill
    • Leeks
    • Rhubarb
    • Garlic (not matured yet)
    • Leeks (not mature)

The harvest bounty also provides the pleasure of sharing with family, friends and neighbours.  Of course I have photographs…

  • Summer Garden Flora and Fauna

Here are more summer garden flora and fauna photographs. Getting in close with my specialised macro lens really brings the little world out to a larger scale. In such a vibrant time the garden is full of textures, colour and beasties like ladybird, flies and more. Lots to enjoy.

  • Squirrel, rain and garden colour

    Squirrel, rain and garden colour

A local squirrel distrubed from peanut collecting duty by a full frontal Poppy bark-fest scampered to a nearby wall and hung upside-down. Later-on the rain drenched flowers made intense colour and texture photographs.
