  • Glasgow Buildings

When walking around a City your senses are seduced by bright lights, signs, noises and yes Lush – smells. Try looking up. The building walls, architecture, materials can reveal a City’s past, present and future. So ignore the shop chains and look-up for a new perspective.

  • Glasgow Smile

Glasgow smile, because there are some sights. Whenever I wander around the city with my camera I always see something interesting. Lately there are some new artworks painted on unobtrusive walls. And the city transforms from old red sandstone architecture to structures shiny and new.

  • Leaving Harris and Lewis

Final frames from my first visit to Harris and Lewis in November 2016. There are lots of pre-trip processes I do mainly around maps which I love. Ordinance Survey Explorer paper maps kickstarted my love of the outdoors. In Cubs I learned map reading. In Geography I learned mapping countours and detail. Aged 15 I learned route planning as my friends and I and cycled Scotland’s Youth Hostels. So now I start with a map and write notes on it before I go and update with what I found. “Great rock formations”, “Sea stacks”, “Great hot chocolate” all make for useful information. And i will return to these islands.

  • Harris Scotland

North Harris Scotland is another slice of nice. Rainbows, rain and sunshine bring out so much definition in landscape photography. A bridge in the east links to Scalpay, an island of around 300 people that includes the lighthouse at Eilan Glas. More photography of that soon.

  • Besalú

The medieval town of Besalú sits north of Girona. You approach over a grand romanesque bridge with huge doorways over the river Fluvia. It is a 12th century fortress with a strong jewish history. Side streets are very small and bend sharply unfriendly to motor vehicles and great to stroll through.
