Nacreous clouds over Clackmannanshire

Iridescent clouds otherwise known as nacreous clouds. In the wake of a strong and slow depression off the northwest Scottish coast (“storm Henry”), we were treated to this stunning display. The colours come from sunlight below horizon striking high-up water and ice which splits the sunlight into its constituent rainbow of colours. A pleasure to witness and photograph nacreous clouds.
