My base in Rheinigidale worked well on Harris, now its time to explore Lewis. I shacked-up in the Otter Bunkhouse in Uig which was clean, bright with nice views. Lewis is much larger with a huge coastline by comparison so no weather would stop my journey.
I discovered this group of characters in a band at Cairisiadar out on the open hill.
I met a Canadian touring the Outer Hebrides during my stay at The Otter Bunkhouse. In the evening we chatted all sorts and in the winter talks are longer, like the nights. We discussed his fears of the just elected President Trump who campaigned to halt Canada’s trade agreements. Then I deflated over the Brexit vote just five months prior and how the UK felt hijacked by reckless spivs and chancers. Interesting evenings drinking malt and feeling deflated, but the area lifted our spirits.
